About your Tutor and Why you should do this Course:

Mike Brown has been a professional photographer for over 30 years. He has worked in many areas of the business including Press, Nature and Landscape, Weddings and Portraits and Commercial photography but also worked in projects within his personal work. This has resulted in 3 highly acclaimed and sold out books, plus a number of solo exhibitions in Ireland and France and his works have been exhibited in group exhibitions in the USA, Spain, Australia and many other places around the globe.

Mike also judges regularly on the club circuit in Ireland and for the IPPVA so he is well aware of the standards required for these. He has assisted photographers with their qualifications for both the IPF and the IPPVA.

For those who are interested in expanding their photographic view away from Club and national competitions, Mike also gets photographers to test their own photographic viewpoint. A recent quote from someone who attended a talk by Mike at a club is interesting:

“Hi Mike, I saw your presentation to the camera club on Wed night. It was so refreshing to hear somebody who is connected to the art form rather than the vanilla, prescriptive, competition approach. I really enjoyed it. It appears that most speakers are in the competition camp which takes from the enjoyment for me. So good to see the mix you spoke about!”
